The word of the year in 2023 is consistency. What a heavy load! If there is one word the self-help industry loves the most, it's this all-rounder, praised as the surest road to success.
I admit, I fell for this spell (a few times) before. I was convinced that I needed to show up + show more. At times, we hypnotize ourselves through our own goals, and we don't see the answer right in front of us. But the universe is impeccable in handing us the cause and cure at once.
Words are magic spells, and I like the silent rebellion of changing their meanings to suit my magic. Instead of "more productive" and "more successful", consistency will be known this year as a continuous promise to ourselves. I promise that I come first, my dreams come first, and my well-being comes first.
This year, I promise to show up for myself + to make space for whatever sets our heart on fire. I practice pausing more to grow spaces of silence, to hear my own intuition and allow receiving divine intervention.
I continue to build a home for all the hidden + rejected parts of myself. My inner landscape is a nourishing sphere, creating harmony between all parts and features of me.
It feels high-time for a selfish year that doesn't opt for half-resolutions and unfinished dreams. Commitment starts with the ways we show up for our needs and desires in various spaces. It requires saying no to the comforting ways of doing things.
